Univention Summit 2026

Peter Ganten studierte Physik und Psychologie, bevor er nach der Wahrnehmung verschiedener forschender und beratender Aufgaben die Univention GmbH ins Leben rief. Er beschäftigt sich seit 1994 mit Linux und wurde als Autor eines erfolgreichen Handbuches zu Debian GNU/ Linux bekannt. Heute leitet er die Univention GmbH und ist für die strategische Ausrichtung des Unternehmens verantwortlich. Als Vorsitzender der OSB Alliance setzte er sich in Politik und Wirtschaft für eine von Offenheit und Vertrauen geprägte europäische Perspektive der Digitalisierung ein.

Peter Ganten studied physics and psychology before founding Univention GmbH after working in various research and consulting roles. He has been working with Linux since 1994 and became well known as the author of a successful handbook on Debian GNU/Linux. Today, he leads Univention GmbH and is responsible for the company’s strategic direction. As Chairman of the OSB Alliance, he has advocated in politics and business for a European approach to digitalization shaped by openness and trust.

Milen Starke ist seit Juni 2025 Staatssekretärin und Landes-CIO/CDO im Thüringer Ministerium für Digitales und Infrastruktur. Zuvor war sie bei der Q-SOFT GmbH tätig, wo sie ab 2015 die Vertriebsleitung innehatte und 2018 in die Rolle der geschäftsführenden Gesellschafterin wechselte. Darüber hinaus engagierte sie sich als Bundesvorständin im Verband der Unternehmerinnen in Deutschland.

Milen Starke has been State Secretary and State CIO/CDO at the Thuringian Ministry of Digital Affairs and Infrastructure since June 2025. Prior to this, she worked at Q-SOFT GmbH, where she was head of sales from 2015 and became managing partner in 2018. She was also involved as a member of the federal executive committee of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs in Germany.

Emma Ghariani ist Direktorin der Abteilung Open Source und Digitale Gemeingüter bei der französischen interministeriellen Delegation für digitale Angelegenheiten (DINUM). Sie konzentriert sich auf den Aufbau und die Förderung nachhaltiger Kooperationen im Bereich öffentlicher digitaler Gemeingüter in Frankreich und Europa. Emma begeistert sich für soziale und digitale Innovationen und hat Abschlüsse von Sciences Po sowie vom Nationalen Institut für Orientalische Sprachen und Zivilisationen.

Emma Ghariani is the Director of the Open Source and Digital Commons division at the French Interministerial Delegation for Digital Affairs (DINUM). She is focused on developing and supporting meaningful public-commons cooperations in France and Europe. Emma is passionate about social and digital innovations, and she holds degrees from Sciences Po and the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations.

Matthias Stürmer ist Professor an der Berner Fachhochschule und Leiter des Instituts Public Sector Transformation (IPST) sowie Privatdozent am Institut für Informatik der Universität Bern. Zuvor war er in der Privatwirtschaft bei EY und Liip tätig. Er hat an der ETH Zürich zu Open Source Communities und Technologie-Unternehmen doktoriert und ist heute Präsident der Vereine CH Open und Digital Impact Network sowie Geschäftsleiter der Parlamentarischen Gruppe Digitale Nachhaltigkeit (Parldigi).

Matthias Stürmer is a Professor at Bern University of Applied Sciences and Head of the Institute for Public Sector Transformation (IPST), as well as a Privatdozent (lecturer) at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Bern. Prior to this, he worked in the private sector at EY and Liip. He earned his doctorate at ETH Zurich with a focus on open source communities and technology companies. Today, he serves as President of the associations CH Open and Digital Impact Network and as Managing Director of the Parliamentary Group for Digital Sustainability (Parldigi).
