Digital collaboration brings similar challenges for all organizations—whether companies, public authorities, or social institutions. Projects must be managed in a structured way, organizational knowledge preserved sustainably, and information provided in a controlled manner, both internally and externally.
Our presentation shows, using Caritas im Norden as an example, how these needs can be met with OpenStackMine by Bergwerk IT (UCS, OpenCloud, OpenProject, and XWiki) and why openness and digital sovereignty are essential.
Karam Kharrat Helou ist derzeit als Projektmanager für IT-Infrastruktur bei Bergwerk-IT tätig. In dieser Rolle verantwortet er die Planung, Steuerung und Koordination von IT-Infrastrukturprojekten für Kunden, darunter Server-, Netzwerk- und Cloud-Umgebungen.
Karam Kharrat Helou currently works as a project manager for IT infrastructure at Bergwerk-IT. In this role, he is responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating IT infrastructure projects for customers, including server, network, and cloud environments.
Jochen Stöckmann arbeitet im Stab Digitalisierung der Caritas im Norden. Er befasst sich mit der Frage, wo Digitalisierung sitzt und was sie macht. Ziel seiner Arbeit ist es, Hilfebedürftige und Mitarbeitende mit Digitalisierung, IT und Netzwerken gelingend zu verbinden. Dabei geht es darum, eine Vision zu realisieren und nicht blind irgendwelche Software zu schnappen, nur weil sie alle haben.
Jochen Stöckmann works in the digitalization department at Caritas in northern Germany. He deals with the question of where digitalization is located and what it does. The aim of his work is to successfully connect people in need and employees with digitalization, IT, and networks. The goal is to realize a vision and not just blindly grab any software because everyone else has it.
