Cord Martens ist seit 2004 in unterschiedlichen Rollen für die Univention GmbH tätig und hat in den vergangenen Jahren eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Projekte und Kooperationspartner begleitet, Univention Software erfolgreich zu nutzen.

Schulen stehen vor der Herausforderung, Benutzerinformationen zentral, sicher und effizient zu verwalten. Systeme wie Active Directory, WLAN, Lernmanagementsysteme sowie Cloud-Dienste wie Nextcloud, M365 oder ASM müssen nahtlos integriert und zentral steuerbar sein, um die Lehrerinnen und Lehrer, Schülerinnen und Schüler sowie und IT-Administratorinnen und IT-Administratoren im Alltag zu entlasten.
Schools face the challenge of managing user information centrally, securely, and efficiently. Systems such as Active Directory, WLAN, learning management systems, as well as cloud services like Nextcloud, M365, or ASM must be seamlessly integrated and centrally manageable in order to reduce the day-to-day workload of teachers, students, and IT administrators.
Last year, the project and the state’s motivation for migrating its directory service to an open-source solution were presented.
At the Summit 2026, Volker Everts (Dataport AöR) and Cord Martens (Univention GmbH) will report on the current status, the challenges encountered, the requirements that have already been successfully addressed, and the future perspective that a “new directory service” brings.
On the one hand, the new directory service is a key pillar for further projects within the state, supporting the modernization of the IT landscape in Schleswig-Holstein. On the other hand, conceptual results as well as concrete product features are already available that are also of interest to other federal states and can be reused under the principle of Public Money – Public Code.
Im vergangenen Jahr wurde das Projekt sowie die Motivation des Landes zur Umstellung des Verzeichnisdienstes auf eine Open-Source-Lösung vorgestellt. Auf dem Summit 2026 berichten Volker Everts (Dataport AöR) und Cord Martens (Univention GmbH) zum aktuellen Stand, den Herausforderungen, aber auch zu den bereits gelösten Anforderungen sowie über die Zukunftsperspektive, die ein "Neuer Verzeichnisdienst" mit sich bringt. Der neue Verzeichnisdienst ist einerseits eine wichtige Säule für weitere Projekte im Land, um die Modernisierung der IT-Landschaft in Schleswig-Holstein zu unterstützen. Andererseits sind konzeptionelle Ergebnisse, aber auch konkrete Produktfeatures verfügbar, die auch für andere Bundesländer interessant sind und zur Verfügung stehen (Public Money - Public Code).
