Werner Fischer bringt Linux an Schulen. Er ist seit 2005 bei Thomas-Krenn tätig, hat dort über 1.000 Artikel für das Thomas-Krenn-Wiki verfasst und die Thomas-Krenn Linux User Group (tklug) mitgegründet. Seine erste LPI-Prüfung hat er 2003 abgelegt. Nun ist er ehrenamtlich im Board of Directors des Linux Professional Institutes tätig und setzt sich dort vor allem für das Thema „Schule & Bildung” ein. Als LPI Channel Partner unterstützt er Schulen dabei, Linux in den Unterricht zu integrieren.
Werner Fischer brings Linux to schools. He has been with Thomas-Krenn since 2005, where he has written over 1,000 articles for the Thomas-Krenn Wiki and co-founded the Thomas-Krenn Linux User Group (tklug). He took his first LPI exam in 2003. Jugendliche wissen oft wenig über Linux und Open Source. Laptops laufen unter Windows oder macOS, Smartphones unter Google Android oder Apple iOS. Die damit einhergehende Überwachung und die Abhängigkeit von Großkonzernen ist vielen nicht bewusst.
Open Source beweist: Es geht auch anders! Dieses Wissen sollten wir teilen. Das LPI bietet dazu Essentials Programme inkl. freier Lernunterlagen für den Unterricht an. Die Unterlagen enthalten Grundlagen sowie didaktisch aufbereitete (Differenzierungs-)Aufgaben. Werner Fischer zeigt, wie Lehrkräfte die Jugendlichen damit individuell fördern können.
Young people often know little about Linux and open source. Laptops run on Windows or macOS, smartphones on Google Android or Apple iOS. Many are unaware of the surveillance and dependence on large corporations that this entails.
Open source proves that there is another way! We should share this knowledge. The LPI offers Essentials programs including free learning materials for teaching. The materials contain basic information and didactically prepared (differentiated) tasks. Werner Fischer shows how teachers can use them to support young people individually.
