With Univention as the server platform and Siedl Networks GmbH as the techn. and commercial interface, we found the perfect partners. The systems are now running on refurbed and new hardware: UCS, LDAP, Samba, NFS, PAM-auth., Ansible, Cockpit, Python, Nextcloud and Proxmox.

Michael Astenwald studied geography at the University of Innsbruck, where the foundation was laid for his inclination toward open source. For many years, he worked as a self-employed IT entrepreneur, administering and advising small and medium-sized businesses across various industries, until he took over as Head of IT at pro mente tirol in 2014. There, he established a hybrid network of open-source and proprietary software, with a primary focus on open source. As a true Tyrolean, he always has to find time to get into the mountains.
