Key pillars include Open Source and close cooperation within Germany as well as between European states — because only in this way can sustainably successful and competitive solutions be developed.

Peter Ganten studierte Physik und Psychologie, bevor er nach der Wahrnehmung verschiedener forschender und beratender Aufgaben die Univention GmbH ins Leben rief. Er beschäftigt sich seit 1994 mit Linux und wurde als Autor eines erfolgreichen Handbuches zu Debian GNU/ Linux bekannt. Heute leitet er die Univention GmbH und ist für die strategische Ausrichtung des Unternehmens verantwortlich. Als Vorsitzender der OSB Alliance setzte er sich in Politik und Wirtschaft für eine von Offenheit und Vertrauen geprägte europäische Perspektive der Digitalisierung ein.
Peter Ganten studied physics and psychology before founding Univention GmbH after working in various research and consulting roles. He has been working with Linux since 1994 and became well known as the author of a successful handbook on Debian GNU/Linux. Today, he leads Univention GmbH and is responsible for the company’s strategic direction. As Chairman of the OSB Alliance, he has advocated in politics and business for a European approach to digitalization shaped by openness and trust.
