Reuse is more than just a cost-saving measure – it’s an accelerator for digital transformation. Instead of reinventing solutions, it’s about making existing approaches visible, sharing them, and building on what already works. Reuse often sounds unappealing and is dismissed as a “grey routine.” This talk will show how reuse can be purposefully used as a strategic tool to foster innovation, use resources efficiently, and sustainably advance public administration.

Zehra Öztürk ist komm. Referatsleiterin in der Senatskanzlei Hamburg und gestaltet die IT-Landschaft der Hamburger Verwaltung – und darüber hinaus – zukunftsfähiger und garniert diese mit neuen Technologien, wie z.B. KI. Sie kämpft für mehr Diversität und engagiert sich für Digitalisierung u.a. bei Re:form. Sie hat den Ko-Pionier-Preis für Nachnutzug initiiert. Als Diplom-Informatikerin hat sie erst im KI Bereich gearbeitet, bevor sie ihre Berufung in der Hamburger Verwaltung gefunden hat.
Zehra Öztürk is acting head of department at the Hamburg Senate Chancellery, where she is working to make the IT landscape of Hamburg's administration – and beyond – more future-proof and enhance it with new technologies such as AI. She campaigns for greater diversity and is committed to digitalization, including at Re:form. She initiated the Co-Pioneer Award for reuse. As a graduate computer scientist, she first worked in the field of AI before finding her calling in Hamburg's administration.
