Digital transformation is not only changing technical infrastructure, but above all teaching, learning, and school culture. While some schools are already working with innovative concepts, others still lack adequate infrastructure and support. What matters is how digital media are meaningfully integrated into teaching, how teachers are supported in their professional development, and how new learning opportunities are created for students. To make this a success, schools, school authorities, and policymakers must work together to establish sustainable frameworks and ensure equal opportunities.
Mit seiner Ausbildung zum Fachinformatiker und dem Studium der Telekommunikationsinformatik machte er sein Hobby zum Beruf. Nach zehn Jahren IT-Service-Erfahrung in einem international tätigen Unternehmen arbeitet er seit 2019 im Schulamt Chemnitz. Als Leiter des Schulrechenzentrums unterstützt er mit seinem Team 80 Schulen bei den täglichen Herausforderungen der Digitalisierung. Ein großer Erfolgsfaktor ist dabei die enge Zusammenarbeit mit dem Medienpädagogischen Zentrum Chemnitz.
With his training as an IT specialist and his studies in telecommunications informatics, he turned his hobby into his profession. After ten years of IT service experience in an international company, he has been working at the Chemnitz School Authority since 2019. As head of the school computer center, he and his team support 80 schools in the daily challenges of digitization. A major factor in their success is their close cooperation with the Chemnitz Media Education Center.

Ist seit über 20 Jahren im Bereich der Schul-IT tätig. Zuvor war er als IT-Consultant und geschäftsführender Gesellschafter eines IT-Dienstleisters mit Fokus auf den Bildungsbereich aktiv. Seit 2019 ist er Teil des CANCOM Public-Education Teams und verantworte bundesweit das Themenfeld Apple im Bildungsbereich.
In seiner Position fungiert er als Bindeglied zwischen Vertriebskolleg:innen, Kunden und Hersteller. Dabei ist er unter anderem in der strategischen Beratung tätig und verantwortlich für strategische Kunden sowie Rahmenverträge.
He has been working in the field of school IT for over 20 years. Previously, he was active as an IT consultant and managing partner of an IT service provider with a focus on the education sector. Since 2019, he has been part of the CANCOM Public Education team, where he is responsible nationwide for the topic of Apple in education.
In his role, he acts as a link between sales colleagues, customers, and manufacturers. His responsibilities include strategic consulting as well as managing strategic customers and framework agreements.
