Er ist Anwendungsentwickler in C, C++, Python und Java, Informatiker und bekennender „Standards-Wonk“ mit über 20 Jahren Erfahrung im Code von LibreOffice und OpenOffice.org. Er war einer der Gründer der The Document Foundation, des LibreOffice-Projekts und ehemaliges Mitglied des technischen Komitees des OASIS Open Document Format (ODF).
